Central Florida
School of Decorative finishes is a learning center for
the decorative arts offering classes in faux finishing,
color theory, and mural painting, to name a few.
Classes are for homeowners, designers, and professional
artists/painters. Experience and talent are not
necessary. Each class is designed to fit the expertise
of the students enrolled. Students of similar
experience are grouped together so no complete novices
will be placed in advanced classes.
The
school is located at 74 West Second Street in Apopka,
just two blocks north of highway 441. We are about 1/2
hour from Orlando, 1 1/2 hours from Tampa, 1 hour from
Cocoa, 4 hours from Miami and Naples. The building was
formerly a residence, built in 1943, and has retained
many of the original characteristics such as heart pine
floors and sanded plaster walls. The “home-like”
atmosphere makes this a perfect canvas upon which to
practice techniques to be applied in other’s homes.
Most finishes, after a short warm-up and preparation of
a sample board on easels, will be done on actual walls
to get the most realistic experience possible.
After a several year
hiatus, Maria is now taking local projects. Just before
she went on hiatus, she was booked 8 to 9 months out. To
contact her for work call 407-496-3595 or
